I absolutely loved this outdoorsy engagement session with Aleksandra and Tyler!
When we first started planning the session it quickly became very clear that it just had to be a waterfall location for these two. Since I was pretty new to the area, I started doing some research and finally decided on Cascade Falls in Patapso Valley State Park. It can be difficult finding an epic location that doesn't require a super long hike prior to the session. After you've done your hair and makeup and put on your pretty clothes, you don't want to ruin all that effort by hiking through the woods for hours, especially during the hot and humid summer months in Maryland. Cascade Falls is only a 10 minute walk away from the parking lot, and offers some amazing scenery to work with. Another plus is, there are plenty of other spots around to use during the photo session, such as the awesome swinging bridge, that became one of our backdrops as well.
Aleksandra and Tyler were troopers! We had quite an audience, since the session had to happen on the weekend, we weren't the only ones enjoying the beauty of this location. No problem for these two lovebirds though, they had no problem pretending to be the only ones there, I guess it's an easy task when you're in love. And their love for each other truly shows in their final photos!
Since moving to Maryland, exploring new locations has become one of my favorite pastimes and I'm so excited to have this great location so close to my home, and I'm sure this won't be the last time I've shot there.
